Solstice Poem
Joan Dobbie
Black & white wear
each other's clothes
& the darkest moment
is that moment
when the dark
lets go
The thing to do, I guess,
is love the darkness
Knowing darkness
also disappears
& trust the light
though it comes & goes
& makes
no promises
each other's clothes
& the darkest moment
is that moment
when the dark
lets go
The thing to do, I guess,
is love the darkness
Knowing darkness
also disappears
& trust the light
though it comes & goes
& makes
no promises
Joan Dobbie co-hosts the River Road Reading Series in Eugene, Oregon, teaches hatha yoga, and finds in poetry (and clay as well) the joy of seeing her subconscious take material form.
